Who is eligible for the OReGO program?

To participate in the OReGO program, your vehicle must meet the following criteria:

  • It must be registered with the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles.
  • It should be compatible with mileage reporting.
  • It must be electric or have a 40 miles-per-gallon or better rating from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
  • It should be classified as light-duty passenger
How soon will I receive the fuel tax credit after refueling with gasoline?

We will determine the amount of fuel your vehicle consumes and automatically subtract your fuel tax up to a zero-dollar balance. Therefore, you pay 2 cents for each mile you drive, excluding the total fuel tax paid. You can view the calculations on the NextMove platform.

How will I receive my fuel tax credit and how is it applied?

Oregonians with fuel-powered vehicles pay an automatic 40 cents per gallon fuel tax. OReGO participants receive a credit for the fuel tax they pay!

What mileage reporting options are available?

Presently, there are two available options for you to choose from:

  1. Telematics plug-in device: This mileage reporting option collects information from your vehicle through the OBDII port and transmits data via a cellular connection embedded in the device. The device gathers GPS location, distance traveled, and fuel consumption data (if available).
  2. OEM connected vehicle telematics: It is a non-GPS option that automates mileage reporting through your vehicle manufacturer's connected services. There is no need for hardware or installation. It simply involves granting access or setting up a connected service account with your vehicle's manufacturer.
  3. Manual reporting via odometer photo capture: This option allows you to submit your quarterly miles driven by capturing your odometer reading with a photo.
  4. Feel free to choose the reporting option that best suits your needs.
